Being farmers means we’ve always cared about how our potatoes are grown, and the land we grow on. It’s our bread and butter. So you can be sure we’re just as keen as you are to care for our environment and for our produce.

All of our growers have to meet very strict standards and they’re happy to work to our tough protocols. It makes sense for all of us. So, although we’re not all organic, we’re responsible and we’re moving in the right direction.

We make no bones about the fact that sometimes we’ll source our potatoes from around the world. This enables us to extend our growing season while we wait for our growers at home to nurture their crops. Our overseas growers play a vital role in our supply programme, enabling us to supply you with great spuds, while our crops at home grow.

As well as looking after our spuds, we’re very conscious about lessening our impact on the environment. Our growers are busy planting trees and hedgerows and improving wildlife habitats as well as growing great potatoes. And we’re working hard to develop greener alternatives to pest controls too. Even our newest potato coldstores are environmentally friendly.

We haven’t solved everything yet. But we’re making great progress. We’ll keep you posted.
